The Young Inventor solves the Plastic Problem.

Plastic has a better use than just rotting in the dumping yards for thousands of years. The young inventor, Nzambi Matee of Nairobi has proven it. She has invented new types of bricks that involve plastic and sand being mixed. A hydraulic press then squeezes it into shape which makes it as hard as concrete. Plans of these plastic bricks being installed in the streets across Nairobi are being made. This is the first step to reducing plastic waste. Nzambi’s company utilizes 3 out of the 7 types of single-use plastics. They handle nearly 10 metric tons of plastic every month and are planning to increase their production. Their technique of recycling plastic should be an inspiration for all of us to follow the 3 R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Plastic takes thousands of years to decompose in the environment. most dumping grounds across the world are full of plastic. Even though plastic has been banned in many parts of the world, plastic usage is still at a peak. Plastic is one of the main causes of climate change. Try using paper or cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Be part of the solution, not part of the pollution. Do your bit against climate change today.
